Privacy and cookie statement for Embrace The Human Cloud

Your privacy is very important to Embrace The Human Cloud, which is why we adhere to the privacy law. This means that your data is safe with us and that we will always use it properly. In this privacy statement we explain what we do with information that we collect via our website www.embracecloud.nl, at Embrace The Human Cloud.

Statistics and profiling

We keep anonymous statistics on the use of our website with, for example, Google Analytics. We use these statistics to improve our online website by showing only relevant information, or to enhance the website’s user-friendliness. This might include improving the website’s mobile version, or making frequently read articles easier to find.

In addition to anonymous statistics, we also collect personal data. However, this is only done with your permission. We might combine this data to find out more about you, in which case we will of course respect your privacy at all times. Please let us know if you do not wish us to use this information.

What information do we collect? We collect the following personal data: your first and last name, telephone number, email address, name of your organization, organization size, field of work and sector. This data is only collected when you complete and submit one of the forms on our website. We keep this information for at least one year, unless you ask us to delete this.


Newsletter

You can subscribe to our newsletter. Here you can read news, tips and information about our products and services. You can cancel this subscription at any time, with each newsletter containing a link to unsubscribe.

Your email address will only be added to the list of subscribers with your permission.


Marketing communications

We’d like to tell you more about our products and services, and we share this information by email, through social media or by telephone. We keep a record of everything you’ve previously ordered or read, meaning we will not needlessly bother you with information irrelevant to you. You can object to this advertising at any time and unsubscribe using the link in the emails you receive from us. You can also indicate this when we call you.

We may ask you for your feedback on our website, e-books and events in which we participate. We might also request this feedback by email or telephone.


Advertisements

Our website only displays advertisements for our own products and services, and therefore not those of third parties. After gauging visitors’ responses, we use this information to ensure we only present relevant or interesting advertisements and offers in the future.


Disclosure to other companies or institutions

We will not disclose your personal data to third parties without your explicit consent, unless this is necessary for performing our services, or if we are legally obliged to do so (for instance, if the police request this in a suspected criminal case).

‘We collaborate with’, meaning that these partners might receive your personal data. This is necessary for providing you with what you’ve requested on our website. This might be a marketing company that helps us improve the website, create advertisements or send emails. These companies are obliged to treat your data confidentially. We make agreements with them regarding personal-data processing, and record these agreements in what is known as a Processing Agreement.

We may share certain personal data ⁠–⁠ such as your email address ⁠–⁠ with parties such as Facebook or LinkedIn, to create target groups for our advertisements (Custom Audiences). This allows us to show you targeted advertisements. If you do not want your email address to be shared for these purposes, get in touch at hallo@embracecloud.nl, and we’ll ensure this does not happen.

We use social media buttons on our website so that visitors can easily share our content through social media. This concerns the following social media platforms:

Retention period:

We won’t store your personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which this was collected. If you ask us to delete your personal data, we will erase this from our database by the end of the month concerned.


Cookies

Our online service uses cookies. Cookies are small files used to store information, so you don’t always have to enter everything once again. They also enable us to see that you are a returning visitor. Cookies are never kept longer than legally prescribed and strictly necessary for carrying out the objectives.

When you visit our online service for the first time, we display a message explaining cookies, and we also request your consent for using these. This concerns the following cookies:

  • Technical or functional cookies: we place functional cookies to make our website work properly. By law, permission is not required for placing these cookies. These cookies ensure that preferences are saved, information is remembered when you go to another subpage, credentials are saved, the website is displayed properly on your screen, it is remembered whether you have consented to cookies being placed, misuse can be detected, and data is remembered for a potential ordering process.
  • Analytical cookies: we use analytical cookies from Google Analytics, so that Google can provide us with insight on how our website is used. This information is then used to continuously improve our website. We only collect anonymous information through Google Analytics and have Google anonymise the IP addresses, meaning we are unable to trace back to you personally through these cookies. A Processing Agreement has been concluded with Google, containing strict agreements on what they are allowed to keep. Although we do not allow Google to use the Analytics information obtained for other Google services, Google may provide this information to third parties if legally required to do so, or in the event such third parties process the information on behalf of Google.   • Other cookies: in addition to the functional and analytical cookies, we also use cookies from companies such as Facebook, LinkedIn, ActiveCampaign, Hotjar, Convertflow, Zopim. Among other things, these cookies ensure that you will not always see the same advertisements, that those you do see from us on social media sites match your interests, and that we know how effective our advertisements are and are able to improve these. These cookies are only placed with your permission. You will be asked to accept the cookies during your visit to our website, and these are only placed following your consent.


Deleting cookies

Cookies have an expiration date, and they are automatically deleted once this date has passed. You can manually disable or delete the cookies at any time; to do so, please consult your browser’s help documentation. With most browsers, you will find this option in the settings.


Security

Protecting personal data is of the utmost importance to us and we take the following measures to protect your privacy:

  •  We ensure that only essential personnel have access to personal data
  •  Once received, data is stored in a separate, protected system
  •  We use secure connections (Secure Sockets Layer or SSL) that protect all information between you and our website when you enter personal data

When we change our practices regarding personal data processing or cookie policy, we must of course also amend this Privacy and Cookie Statement. Therefore, always pay attention to the date above and check for new versions regularly; we will do our best to announce changes also separately.


Accessing, rectifying and erasing your data
